How to Clean and Maintain Marble

Marble is relatively soft and porous, compared to granite. It is particularly sensitive to the acid, especially to the acid found in some fruits, wine and some general cleaning products. Spillages may therefore corrode the marble. As well as stains from the pigments in common foodstuffs such as coffee and curry powder make leave a mark on the marble surface.

Marble tiles are extremely versatile and perfect for both residential and commercial projects alike. In addition to flooring tiles, marble are often used as table tops (e.g. kitchen tops).

This article will guide you to cleaning and maintaining your Marble so that it will be in optimal condition and last longer.

How to Clean your Coffee Machine like a Pro

Something taste weird?

My wife is a coffee addict. Every morning, she must get her coffee before she can become ‘normal’. Therefore, I was surprised when my wife approach me one morning with a sour look on her face, “Honey, this cup of coffee tastes bad.” Now, I’m not an avid coffee drinker, but I know a few things.

One of these things is that coffee is not supposed to taste horrible, especially with a slate of art coffee machine.  I think that’s a given, right? I mean, I forked out several hundreds for a slate of art coffee machine and coffee machine refill packs that is suppose to deliver finest coffee, and it chutes out terrible tasting coffee?

I examined the coffee making machine. The situation was not looking good. I could see some brown and black coloured powdery deposits on the inside of the machine. The beautiful new coffee maker that we just bought 3 months ago and was so proud of seemed to have lost some of its lackluster and shine.

I asked her when was the last time she had cleaned the coffee machine. The response was an unintelligible mumble while avoiding eye contact as she made an excuse and get scrambled out of the kitchen. I took that as a bad sign.

Well, when the espresso machine chute out coffee that starts to taste funny or horrible, I guess it’s time to give your coffee maker a little clean-up. A simple cleaning should help to maintain freshness and prevent staining. It would also removes mineral buildup and cleans out the coffee residues that was left behind and had turned bad. Best of all, the coffee will back to tasting good. 😉

The best news? It’s easy to do and require very little on your part.

How to clean burnt on food in pots and frying pans

How to Clean Burnt On Food on Frying Pans and Pots

As any person who cooks at home will cheerfully tell you, cooking is a pleasure. The problem is cleaning up after that. And among those who hate cleaning, cleaning pots and frying pans ranked among the things they dread to clean the most.

Why? Because of burnt on food. Burnt on food on pots and pans are unpleasant to clean. They leave a black colour soot on the pans and are notoriously difficult to remove. Also, the fact that the pans are often thick with grease does not help. Scrubbing on the pans often leaves scratch marks and may corrode the non-stick layer on non-stick pans.

Some people use detergent, and stroke the pan overnight with water, in hopes that the burnt on food will be easier to remove. Most of the time, they are disappointed. Can you see the burnt on soot in the steak dinner above?

Things you need to clean burnt on food on your pots, baking trays, ovens, and frying pans.
