How to Clean and Maintain Marble

Marble is relatively soft and porous, compared to granite. It is particularly sensitive to the acid, especially to the acid found in some fruits, wine and some general cleaning products. Spillages may therefore corrode the marble. As well as stains from the pigments in common foodstuffs such as coffee and curry powder make leave a mark on the marble surface.

Marble tiles are extremely versatile and perfect for both residential and commercial projects alike. In addition to flooring tiles, marble are often used as table tops (e.g. kitchen tops).

This article will guide you to cleaning and maintaining your Marble so that it will be in optimal condition and last longer.

How to Clean and Maintain your Granite Surfaces

Favoured above many other stone products, granite is valued for its resistance to acids and its hardness. It is a porous stone and can be stained or damaged if not sealed before use.

On the other hand, granite tiles are easier to work with because they are smaller and lighter than marble.

Due to its resistance to acid and its hardness, granite is becoming an increasingly popular choice for countertop.

How to clean your carpet like a Pro

How to Clean your Carpet Like a Pro

Despite your best efforts at cleanliness, your carpet will eventually become a victim of drops, spills, accidents, and whatever’s on the bottom of your shoes. Sometimes, the items that you had accidentally drop may leave a smell on your carpet.

This article guide you on some of the tricks that expert uses to keep your carpet clean.

How to Clean your Carpet 1 – the tools you need:

The tools you need for cleaning your carpet depends on the method. There are two methods to clean your carpet. These are call the dry method and the carpet shampoo method.

Method 1: Dry Method.

How to clean your carpet:

The way you clean your carpet depends on the method used. In general, this is a breakdown of commonly used methods.

Method 1: Dry Method.

  1. Sprinkle the powder liberally over the carpet.

  2. Leave the powder for at least 30 minutes – but if you can leave it overnight, all the better – this gives the cleaner time to work, softening the stains and consuming the odours.

  3. Vacuum up the powder when you’re done.

Method 2: Carpet Shampoo.

  1. Make up the solution as directed on the packaging. In many cases, the product will need to be diluted with water.

  2. Use just enough carpet shampoo to cover the area.

  3. Do not make the carpet too wet – not only is this a waste of detergent, but it’s also going to increase drying time.

  4. Scrub on the particularly stubborn areas using a hard-bristled brush.

  5. Let the carpet dry.

  6. Vacuum the shampooed carpet once it has dried.

How to Clean your Carpet : Removing stains from carpet:

blotting to remove stains on carpet

Removing stains on the carpet need not be a hassle – with the right products. Our Stain Remover is specially formulated for gentle, deep and simple elimination of soiling and stain-generating substances. What’s more, it also removes tiresome and unpleasant odours, and refreshes the carpet at the same time.

1.  Blot off any liquids with an absorbable cloth and vacuum off loose dirt.

2. Spray stain remover onto the contaminated area, allow to work-in for 2 – 3 minutes and then take up the loosened stain with a clean cloth or absorbent paper.

3. Then treat with clear water and dab dry.

4. In case of stubborn contamination, a soft brush may be used as assistance. Now brush the treated area in the direction of the carpet pile.

5. During drying, do not walk on the treated spot.

6. After drying, vacuum thoroughly.

Important: Always test surfaces for colour fastness before use. Stains should be removed immediately, as far as possible.

The key to getting rid of stains on your carpet is blotting. Blotting means to use a cloth or soft sponge and exert pressure on the carpet.

Blotting puts a small amount of pressure on the stain to soak it up. Do not rub the stain, as rubbing may cause the particles to get ground into the carpet fibers, and this can lead to the premature breakdown of those fibers. Always blot from the outside of the stain inward, as blotting outward can spread the stain.

How to maintain your carpet:

Regular maintenance of your carpet will help make deep cleaning it easier. Carpets need to be vacuumed once a week and more often in areas that are prone to dirt. This will prolong the life of your carpet and prevent a build-up of dirt.
