How to Clean your Coffee Machine like a Pro

Something taste weird?

My wife is a coffee addict. Every morning, she must get her coffee before she can become ‘normal’. Therefore, I was surprised when my wife approach me one morning with a sour look on her face, “Honey, this cup of coffee tastes bad.” Now, I’m not an avid coffee drinker, but I know a few things.

One of these things is that coffee is not supposed to taste horrible, especially with a slate of art coffee machine.  I think that’s a given, right? I mean, I forked out several hundreds for a slate of art coffee machine and coffee machine refill packs that is suppose to deliver finest coffee, and it chutes out terrible tasting coffee?

I examined the coffee making machine. The situation was not looking good. I could see some brown and black coloured powdery deposits on the inside of the machine. The beautiful new coffee maker that we just bought 3 months ago and was so proud of seemed to have lost some of its lackluster and shine.

I asked her when was the last time she had cleaned the coffee machine. The response was an unintelligible mumble while avoiding eye contact as she made an excuse and get scrambled out of the kitchen. I took that as a bad sign.

Well, when the espresso machine chute out coffee that starts to taste funny or horrible, I guess it’s time to give your coffee maker a little clean-up. A simple cleaning should help to maintain freshness and prevent staining. It would also removes mineral buildup and cleans out the coffee residues that was left behind and had turned bad. Best of all, the coffee will back to tasting good. 😉

The best news? It’s easy to do and require very little on your part.
